I love when two entirely different cultures join into one. Kirsten, originally from China, and Keaton, born and raised in the U.S. The two families came together today, one speaking English and the other Mandarin. They beautifully intertwined both culture’s traditions into a single day. Beginning with a Chinese Tea Ceremony and finishing with a Christian wedding.
Keaton and Kirsten are a life loving, adventure seeking couple who recently moved to Portland, Organ without a set plan simply for the experience. Having dated many years and legally being married a full year already, I’ve rarely seen a couple more in love. Every moment they’re together, one has to be touching the other. They’re constantly joking, smiling, and holding each other’s hand. If I were to define a perfect relationship, they would be the definition.

Just looking at this beautiful scenery you’d never know they were getting married in Oklahoma. Let alone in Keaton’s family’s neighborhood. The perfectly symmetric forests, tall rocky peaks, and abundantly flowing rivers would suggest otherwise.
I’m honored to have been chosen to shoot their wedding and be a part of such an important day. And what an amazing day it was! They made me feel more like a guest than a hired photographer. I wish the best for Kirsten & Keaton. And I hope soon to visit Portland, Organ. If I was this impressed with Medicine Park, Oklahoma, I can’t imagine the natural beauty in their new hometown!
